Alijó Municipal Theatre Auditorium was built in order to endow the municipality with a facility that would foster access to artistic events.
Inaugurated on 1 November, 2003, it offers conditions that were hitherto unavailable for more diversified cultural programming. With seating capacity for 251 persons, the main auditorium is technically equipped to host conferences, congresses and major events.
The auditorium has regular programming, constituted by musical, dance and theatre performances. On a weekly basis (on Saturday and Sunday), the Auditorium also holds three film sessions, featuring contemporary titles from the commercial film circuit.

Located in the gardens of Oporto's Palácio de Cristal (Crystal Palace), designed as a multipurpose cultural facility, the Almeida Garrett Municipal Library (BMAG) is an ambitious and innovative project, establishing connections between the Arts, Letters and Philosophy. The building includes a Gallery, Library and Auditorium, open to all segments of the general public.

The dynamic process created by the Library's different functions and services over 10 years of activity, led UNESCO to classify BMAG as an Associate Library of the UNESCO network.
