Synopsis:
In 1966, in the midst of an identity crisis, John Lennon decides to end definitely with The Beatles and start a career as an actor. He arrives to Almería, Spain, to shoot an anti-war film: «Como Gané la Guerra». Antonio, an English teacher from a humble college in Albacete, Spain, decides to undertake a trip to meet the musician and make him an unusual request. Along the route, Antonio encounters Belén, a young girl that has escaped from the obscure seclusion that her family and the society have submitted her to. She is only 20 years old, but carries a past that keeps on haunting her. They both bump into Juanjo, a 16 year old teenager runway. Lennon will be a symbol of freedom, an aspiration. The trio will share days of adventure, which will be an analogy of a country that longs for a brighter future, in the 60’s, in the same places and days in which Lennon wrote «Strawberry Fields Forever».

Director's Biography:
David Trueba was born in Madrid, Spain. His merit as a screenwriter was revealed, for the first time, in «Amo tu Cama Rica». Subsequently, he studied cinema at the American Film Institute, in Los Angeles and, in Spain, he established his career as a screenwriter with «Los Peores Años de Nuestra Vida» and «Balseros» which, until this date, has been the only Spanish documentary ever nominated for an Oscar. Trueba initiated his film director career with the movie «La Buena Vida», followed by «Bienvenido a Casa» that won him the Best Director award from Málaga Festival. Parallel to his cinema career, Trueba maintained his literary activity and a career as a columnist.
