CURATOR

LUÍSA SEQUEIRA
Luísa Sequeira

Luísa Sequeira is a journalist and cultural producer who trained in journalism and specialised in the making of documentaries. She began her career in Mozambique, where she remained until she returned to Portugal to join the team for the NTV project.

She began her work for this channel by presenting the daily programme “Cumplicidades” (Complicities), a magazine format show with interviews of well-known figures from the world of Portuguese culture. She has produced and coordinated a number of other television, video-installation and documentary projects. She coordinated RTP’s programme “Fotograma”, which promoted Portuguese language cinema, and has also produced whole sections and contents for RTP’s “Cinemax” and Antena 1’s “Sala 1” (Room 1).

She was also Portuguese feature film curator at the 5th CINEPORT festival, the world’s biggest Portuguese language film festival. Since 2010, she has been artistic and programming director of Porto’s Shortcutz, an international movement with weekly airings of short films. She also directed the audiovisual project “Porto sem Nó” (Porto Unknotted), winner of the Screening of Brazilian Pilots Competition at the Rio de Janeiro International Television Festival. As in previous years, Luísa Sequeira will be curating the “Home Shorts” section for this year’s DFH.
