Stefan Ruzowitzky is an Academy Award-winning Austrian film director and screenwriter. He studied Drama and History in the University of Vienna, where he attended various seminars and conferences with leading figures from the world of cinema.
His drama “The Counterfeiters” (2007) won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

His debut film, “Tempo” (1996), won an award in 1997 in the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival, in Germany, followed by “The Inheritors” (1998), that won various awards, including trophies in the Rotterdam and Valladolid International Film Festivals.

His thriller “Anatomy”, (2000), won the Audience Award in the German Films Awards, in the Film of the Year category, and its sequel “Anatomy 2” (2003) was nominated for an award by the US-based Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. Stefan Ruzowitzky has also directed comedies, including “All The Queen’s Men”(2001) and “Hexe Lilli” (2009).
