CATARINA WALLENSTEIN
Catarina Wallenstein began her artistic career as a child, performing in children’s operas such as Tosca, La Bohème, and Carmen.

Alongside her training in lyrical singing, which she began in 2002, she also  joined the Lycée Française’s Theatre workshop, where she  participated in performances of William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Albert Camus’ The Misunderstanding.

She attended the theatre course at Lisbon’s film and theatre school (ESTC) and terminated her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Arts Dramatiques in Paris.

She has starred in films such as José Nascimento’s feature film The Wolves, Gael Morel’s Après-Lui, where she performed alongside Catherine Deneuve and RTP’s TV series, Conta-me como Foi.

In  2009 she won a Globo de Ouro award for Best film actress and has participated in films such as Mário Barroso’s Doomed Love, Jorge Queiroga’s The Private Life of Salazar and Manoel de Oliveira’s Eccentricities of a Blonde-Haired Girl.

Her most recent projects include Miguel Clara Vasconcelos’ short film U-Mya and João Botelho’s The Film of Disquiet.
